Lot Description

A late 19th century 9ct gold orange paste intaglio fob seal. The oval shape orange paste moulded to depict two Grecian figures to the scroll design surmount. Length 3.5cms. Weight 14.1gms.

The intaglio is in overall fair/poor condition. There are scratches and areas of heavy abrasion to the paste, there is dirt to the outer surround. There are scratches and areas if discolouration, there are some dents to the ridged detail and dirt to the patterning. There is engraved lettering to the intaglio at the base which is worn and illegible. Touchstone tests as 9ct gold.
