Lot Description
A silver christening mug and a silver topped glass inkwell, the mug with plain tapered sides with tubular handle together with a square shaped glass inkwell with curved sides to the silver rim and hinged lid with script monogram. Mug hallmarked William Hutton & Sons Ltd, London 1907, inkwell hallmarked John Grinsell & Sons, London 1897. Weight of mug 3.41 ozt (106.1 grams).

Condition Report
The lot is in fair to good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. There are some shallow dents near the base of the mug. The piece is significantly tarnished. The hallmarks are slightly worn. Length 3 inches (7.6cm). There are two chips to the glass inkwell at one corner. The silver has some small noticeable dents. The monogram appears to be MCSB. Engraved around the rim is "W. Thornhill & Co. Limited. 144 New Bond St. London." There is significant tarnish to the rim. The hallmarks are slightly worn. Length of base 2 3/4 inches (7cm).
