Lot Description

George II silver bread basket of oval form, the everted sides pierced with alternating scrolling foliate and criss cross motifs and with an embossed scroll and flower border, the single swing handle pierced with ovals and embossed with beading and flowers to the double scroll lower part on either side, the whole standing on four foliate scrolled feet.  Hallmarked Lewis Herne & Francis Butty London 1759.  Maximum length 13 1/2 inches (34.5cm), approximate weight 36.65 ozt (1140 grams).
