Lot Description

Edwardian silver jardinière with an all over hammered finish, the bulbous shape bowl embossed with a continuous band of trailing flowers, fruit and foliage, the whole tapering to a circular base and standing on four applied ‘C’ scroll feet.  Hallmarked Johnson, Walker & Tolhurst Ltd (Walter, Walker & Brownfield Tolhurst), London 1902.  Rim diameter 10 ½ inches (26.5cm), height measures 9 ¼ inches (23.5cm), approximate weight 70.73 ozt (2,200 grams).

The jardinière displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  Some deeper scratches in places and there are various minor nicks in the metal in places.  Remnants of polish in some areas.  Small dint to one side, just below the rim.  Hallmarks are clear and legible.
