Lot Description

George II silver caster of vase form, initialled body and pierced cover, hallmarked Samuel Wood London 1743, height measuring 4 3/4 inches (12 cm). Together with a Victorian silver pepperette hallmarked Sheffield 1896. Gross combined weight 3.6 ozt (113 grams).

The cater displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. A number of dints visible and a little compression where the foot meets the body. The initialled engraving appears very rubbed. Only the base is hallmarked and this appears quite distorted. The pepper displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing, a few dints and bumps, the dates to the lid and body differ slightly 1892 and 1896, makers mark extremely rubbed to the body.
