Lot Description

Victorian cased silver four piece condiment set of ovoid form, initialled, raised above three ball feet, comprising lidded mustard pot, pepper and two open salts, with matching spoons. Hallmarked Hilliard & Thomason Birmingham 1892. Gross weight 3.5 ozt (110 grams).

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The hallmarks are dated for Birmingham 1891-1893. The interior of the open salts shows significant discolouration and verdigris. The spoons and pepperette show significant black spot discolouration. There is wear to the gilt interiors. The box has scuffs and minor discolouration with slight damage to the clasp.
