Lot Description

A cased Victorian ruby glass and silver gilt scent bottle fitted with a hinged vinaigrette to the base opening to reveal a scroll pierced grille. Hallmarked Frederick Marson Birmingham 1872. Height measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm).

The scent bottle appears in good condition, there are general scratches and marks, quite heavy tarnishing and a few minor dints. Some abrasion scratches to one shoulder of the glass. Hallmarks only present to the interior of the vinaigrette. The case displays noticeable deterioration to the material to the inside of the hinge.
