Regency single silver candlestick by Matthew Boulton, the main tapering column embossed to the lower part with acanthus leaf and lobed decoration and engraved to one side with a contemporary armorial and crest, below an urn style socket with conforming decoration and a removable drip pan also engraved with two crests matching the armorial, the whole raised above a circular base similarly embossed with anthemion and acanthus leaf motifs within a continuous gadrooned border. Hallmarked Matthew Boulton Birmingham 1818, base also stamped 24.10. Height measures 14 1/4 inches (36.5cm). (candlestick filled).
