Lot Description

Victorian silver vesta case of rectangular foliate engraved form and circular monogram engraved cartouche. Hallmarked David & Lionel Spiers Birmingham 1888. Height measuring 5 cm, weight 27 grams.

The vesta case displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing. The engraved decoration has rubbed to the high contact areas. A hole has developed to one of the bottom corners of the case. The hallmarks positioned to the inner rim are clear and legible. A suspension loop has been soldered to the top of the lid.
