A large pair of Japanese Kutani porcelain vases
Late Meiji period, circa 1900-1910
Each of baluster form with flared neck, decorated with two large panels, of bijin in a garden and a bird in flight respectively, reserved on a typical orange ground with asymmetrical diaperwork and gilt clouds, red painted eight-character mark to base, 36cm, (14") high, (2)

Both vases are free from chips or cracks. The gilded detail to both is very heavily worn with major areas of losses particularly bands around necks
