Lot Description

A Victorian coromandel jewellery box by George Betjemann & Sons

Having a hinged rectangular cover enclosing a removable tray, the lock stamped "MAKERS G. BETJEMANN & SONS LONDON", over a base drawer with spring-release (defective), 12" wide x 9" deep x 8" high,  (31cm x 23cm x 20cm)

Two horizontal veneer splits to top, with some lifting. The base drawer is currently stuck in the closed position, the push-release depresses but does not release the drawer. There are small cracks flanking the lower edge of the base drawer. There is general all-over light scratching commensurate with age and use.
