Lot Description

A good Victorian brass-mounted walnut dressing-case

The slightly domed rectangular cover with pierced and chased scrollwork mounts, enclosing a mirror-backed interior with four gilt scent bottles (at fault) over a tray with pierced gallery, and a push-release drawer, the exterior with bale side handles and elaborate brass mounts to the front, 25.5cm x 15.5cm x 13cm high, (10" x 6" x 5")

Minor veneer cracking to lid. A few dints and splits to brasswork. Some tarnishing to mirror. All four bottles chipped, cracked and repaired. Some losses to wooden tray beneath brass gallery. Brasswork to front is in sections, one is missing its securing screw/tack.
