A mid 19th Century green-stained tortoiseshell mantel clock
Japy Freres, Paris, retailed by Henry Bright, Leamington Spa, circa 1860
Having a 3.25-inch white-enamelled convex dial with blue Roman hours and black Arabic minutes, framing inscribed retailer's name 'HENRY BRIGHT', the two-train movement, outside countwheel-striking the half hours on a bell, with oval 1855 'Grande Med. d 'Honneur' exposition stamp, additionally stamped 'N. FRIDERICK PARIS 324', the case with neoclassical urn surmount and floral swags on a breakfront oval base with toupie feet, 24cm wide x 31cm high, (9.5" x 12"), sold with pendulum, winder, ebonised plinth and oval glass dome

Dial - light staining but no cracks, otherwise good.
Movement in good order.
Case - all-over wrinkling to tortoiseshell, needs brightening. Wide crack over 12 o'clock. Two flake losses outside 10 and 3 respectively. Rubbing to ebonised base. Associated dome.
