Lot 245

Lot Description

An early 20th century 15ct gold gem-set bar brooch. Of marquise shaped outline, the circular-shape ruby and single-cut diamond cluster inset to the circular panel with scrolling foliate line and floral detail. Hallmarks for Chester, partially rubbed. Length 4.5cms. Weight 4.6gms.

Export issue: Yes

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. Estimated total diamond weight 0.04ct, individual diamonds are too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. The ruby is a slightly purplish red hue with moderate facet-edge abrasion. The pin is possibly a replacement. The hinge partially obscures the date letter. The back is missing the glass from the glazed panel.
