A 19th century composite amethyst brooch. The oval-shape amethyst collet within an engraved ivy and earlier cannetille double surround with rope twist detail. Length 4.5cms.

Condition Report
The lot is in fair to good overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The amethyst is a deep slightly reddish purple hue with minor facet-edge abrasion. The cannetille surround is slightly earlier in date than the brooch and is a later addition with dents and small holes from wear. The solder to the back is clumsy and has come away in one area. The rope twist surround is another later addition and is slightly bent in places. Please see important notices in the front of the catalogue for coloured stones. Unhallmarked. Weight 21.7gms.
