Lot Description
A late Victorian diamond and split pearl brooch, circa 1880. Of oval outline, the raised old-cut diamond and split pearl floral cluster within a split pearl stepped surround with rope twist detail. Estimated total diamond weight 0.20ct. Stamped HG&S. Length 4.2cms.

Condition Report
In good overall condition with scratches and dents in keeping with general wear. The principal old-cut diamond is bright and lively with scattered light inclusions. The setting prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. One of the smaller diamonds is slightly discoloured. The split pearls are a creamy-white colour with rose and greenish overtones. They appear to be in good condition with minor surface blemishes. The pin on the reverse is hinged and detachable. There is a hair panel to the reverse, Stamped HG&S possibly for Henry Griffith and Sons Ltd. Weight 19.8gms.
