Lot Description
A 14k gold keyless wind open face pocket watch signed Gebr Eppner, Berlin, given by Wilhelm II to the Head Gamekeeper of the Lowther Estate, the white enamel dial with black Arabic numeral hour markers, sunken subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock, outer minute track with Arabic divisions, plain case stamped with poincon, the back with a stylised "W" surrounded with enamelled red and blue decoration surmounted by a coptic crown, cuvette inscribed with presentation inscription "Presented by H. I. M. The German Emperor, to Charles Robinson. Lowther, Nov. 19th. 1902." fitted with an unsigned frosted gilt Swiss bar movement with "moustache" style club tooth lever escapement, split bi-metal compensation balance and overcoil hairspring. Case diameter 50mm. With fitted presentation case.

14k gold keyless wind pocket watch, the keyless wind movement is currently functioning, the dial has a tiny crack noticeable between nine and ten o'clock, glass shows some small and superficial scuffs to the whole surface, case seems to be in the same state, majority of these scratches should easily polish out, there are few dents noticeable to the case back, positioned to four o'clock, presentation inscription engraved to the dust cover, generally watch appears to be in a quite pleasant condition.
