A Victorian tortoiseshell pique brooch, circa 1880. The inlaid gold detail to the tortoiseshell surmount. Length 3cms. See Plate 4.

The lot is in fair condition. There are scratches to the piece in keeping with overall wear. The hinge to the pin had broken off and has been reattached with glue, there is damage to the pique within this area. The inlay is in good condition, there are minor scratches in place. The back pin has probably been replaced. Weight 4.5gms.
