A Victorian ruby and diamond crescent brooch, circa 1880. The oval-shape rubies to the old-cut diamond crescent surmount with suspended ruby and seed pearl swags. Estimated total diamond weight 0.18ct. Length 4.6cms. See Plate 8.

Condition Report
The lot is in overall good condition, there are slight scratches in keeping with general wear. The rubies are in overall good condition and well matched, there is slight abrasion to some visible with magnification and a small chip to one. There is slight damage to the nacre of a couple of seed pearls. The settings to the diamonds and rubies would need to be checked. Weight 5.1gms.
