A late 18th century mourning ring. The oval-shape sepia miniature depicting an urn within a black enamel surround, with personal inscription reading 'John Edmonds Esq OB 7 Mar 1778 AE38' to the later plain band. AF.

The lot is in fair/poor condition. There are scratches to the piece in keeping with overall wear. The black enamel is heavily chipped in places and heavily worn. There are scratches to the glass and areas of dirt beneath. The ring shank has been replaced at a later date with a strip of metal to the back of the head. Ring size I. Weight 3gms.
