A late 18th century mourning ring. The marquise-shape sepia miniature depicting an urn to the tapered engraved shoulders and plain band. Personal engraving to reverse reads 'Died the 4th Feb 1773'. Length 2.8cms. See Plate 5.

Condition Report
The lot is in overall fair condition, there are slight scratches in keeping with general wear. There are several scratches to the glass, there are areas of dirt and possible damage to the sepia, there is a clump of dirt to the bottom of the sepia plinth. There are areas of discolouration and join marks to the surround, discolouration to the shoulders. There is wear to the back of the ring shank. Ring size N. Weight 4.3gms.
