Lot Description

A late 19th century cameo ring. The oval-shape hardstone carved to depict a forget-me-not, within a scrolling black enamel surround to the scroll engraved band and graduated woven hair panels. AF. Personal engraving to inner band reads 'M M 6th April 1880. See Plate 5.

The lot is in fair/poor condition. There are scratches to the piece in keeping with overall wear. There is damage to several of the inlaid hair panels, where the hair has worn and disintegrated. There is abrasion to the black enamel and areas where the enamel has worn away. Ring size L1/2. Weight 3.2gms.
