Lot Description
A Victorian 18ct gold split pearl and enamel ring, circa 1860. The split pearl line to the oval-shape black enamel surround, buckle design shoulders and scroll engraved band. Incomplete hallmark. Makers mark Smith & Pepper, Birmingham.

Condition Report
The lot is in fair/poor condition. There are scratches to the piece in keeping with overall wear. There are scratches to the enamel visible with the unaided eye, there are blemishes to some of the split pearls and one is far more grey in colour. The ring appears off round and has been sized, hence removing the assay mark, the date letter is for 1864, the Birmingham anchor mark removed. The inner S&P stamp is clear. Ring size I. Weight 2.9gms.
