Lot Description

A late 18th century enamelled mourning ring. The rectangular-shape hinged rotating panel with personal inscription reading 'Letitia Mary McDonnell OB: 2 Aug 1797 AE:21' to the tapered band.

The lot is in overall good condition, there are slight scratches in keeping with general wear. There is a woven hair panel to the reverse of the hinged panel, with further personal engraving surrounding the panel which reads 'Cheveaux Dune Soeur Cherie'. The enamel is in good condition, there is some dirt visible to the hair with magnification. There are some deeper scratches to the band. Ring size H. Weight 3.1gms.
