Lot Description

An enamelled mourning brooch. Of marquise outline, the woven hair panel with overlaid enamelled urn to the plain surround. Length 4.4cms. See Plate 5.

The lot is in fair condition. There are scratches to the piece in keeping with overall wear. There are dents to the back of the brooch and the pin appears to have been added at a later date and is a little long for the brooch. The back catch appears to have been reattached at a later date. There are some quite serious scratches to the glass covering that are easily visible. There is a red substance visible to the hair in places, with specs also on the enamel. Weight 13.9gms.
