Lot Description
A late 18ct century mourning clasp. Of oval outline, the fabric centre with embroidered urn to the plain surround. Personal engraving to reverse reads 'Margt Sinclair My sister died at Lyons 6th May 1775 aged 18. Length 4.1cms. See Plate 5.

Condition Report
The lot is in fair condition. There are scratches to the piece in keeping with overall wear. There are slight scratches and scuffs to the back of the brooch, the engraving slightly worn. The fabric is in good condition, there is a white substance visible to some of the stitching. The clasp function is in good working order. Weight 19.8gms.
