Lot Description
Two Victorian gem-set brooches, circa 1870. The first designed as a diamond and cabochon turquoise dome to the detailed surround, the second designed as a rose-cut diamond hoop within a black enamel surround. Both AF. One stamped 15ct. One unhallmarked. Weight 15.3gms.

Condition Report
The brooches are in poor condition. There are scratches to the piece in keeping with overall wear. There are three diamonds missing from the one brooch, that would need to be replaced, there are scratches and areas of discolouration to the back of the piece, the pin and catch is secure, the backing to the catch appears to have been added at a later date. The other brooch is seriously damaged with a crack to the outer surround, the hinge and catch has been re attached at a later date with visible lead solder repair. The inner back of the brooch is dirty, the outer surround is dented, the central diamond is heavily chipped and several of the turquoise appear to have been replaced and do not match in shade.
