Lot Description
A late 19th century diamond cluster brooch. The later added oval-shape rose-cut diamond within an openwork old-cut diamond surround. Dimensions of rose-cut diamond 8.5 by 7mm, Tinted brown colour, P1-P2 clarity. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 4cts, I-J colour, SI1-P1 clarity. Length 3.3cms. See Plate 6.

Condition Report
Overall fair condition. There are scratches/wear to the setting and areas of blackened discolouration to the setting in keeping with the age of the piece. The central diamond has been added to the piece at a later date and is not original. There are easily visible inclusions to the central diamond, the diamond appears brown in colour. The outer diamonds are bright, there are easily visible inclusions to some visible with magnification. The settings may need to be secured. The back pin as possibly been added at a later date and there is visible solder where the central diamond has been added. Weight 5.5gms.
