Lot Description
A Victorian turquoise and diamond horseshoe brooch, circa 1880. Of circular outline, the graduated rectangular turquoise cabochon and diamond point horseshoe within a raised circular detail surround. Several diamonds deficient. Length 3.9cms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall fair/poor condition. There are scratches to the brooch in keeping with the age of the piece. There is heavy discolouration and tarnishing to the back of the brooch, the catch appears to have been replaced at a later date. The back pin is metal and not original. There are ten diamonds missing that would need to be replaced. It appears that several turquoise have been replaced as some are turquoise and others more dark green. The back central rim is tarnished black and has been replaced. Weight 16.4gms.
