A good enamel and cowrie shell snuff box. Early 19th century, of hinged semi-ovoid design, finely decorated to one face with a bird perched upon a branch above a nest, peaches, cherries, green grapes and plums, within scroll-edged border and two shaped panels reserved on a 'jewelled' pale lemon ground, the other half a cowrie shell section, 3.5", (9cm)

Condition Report
Lid has minor wear commensurate with age and use including two or three fine haircracks, but is in overall sound condition. Underside of lid has eight cracks not visible from above. Shell part is generally very good with internal whorl. Brass work a little dull but sound. Overall good to very good condition.
