A 19th century oval painted portrait miniature. Half length study depicting a gentleman. Inscribed in pencil verso 'W Hake 1842'

There is a slight margin between the gilt slip and the image, the slip may be a later addition. The image has a few marks upon it, the worst to the right of the face, almost like a watermark. Dirty with scratches. Frame has chips, one large one to the corner. There is also an area broken near the glass
