Lot Description

An early 18th century and later oak chest of drawers. The three-plank rectangular top with moulded edge over two short and three long drawers with brass escutcheons and drop handles, separated by cushion-moulded carcase divisions, between fielded panelled sides on moulded apron and stile feet, internal plaque of "JAMES REEVE LTD ANTIQUE DEALERS 11-14 CUMBERLAND ST. BIRMINGHAM. ESTABLISHED NEARLY A CENTURY", 28.25" x 20.5" x 32" high, (73cm x 52cm x 81cm).

Carcase is period but of pale colour due to repolished and restoration some years ago. The drawers have later runners beneath in addition to the rebated side runners, and some have later linings. The brass furniture is also of later date.
