Lot Description

A Victorian mahogany-cased marine chronometer retailed by Craighead & Webb, Royal Exchange, London number 2321. Having a 4" silvered Roman dial, engraved as above, with subsidiary 56-hour State of Wind dial and running seconds dial, the four-pillar chain-fusee movement engraved as above, with 11.5-turn blued steel helical spring and keystones to the bimetallic balance, with bowl stamped 2321, in a brass-bound mahogany box (lower section only), 7" square x 4" high, (18cm x 10cm).
