A 19th century gilt metal and white marble mantel clock by Raingo Freres, Paris. Having a 4" white-enamelled Roman dial inscribed "RAINGO FRES. PARIS", with trefoil hands, the two-train movement outside countwheel-striking on a bell, with Raingo Freres exhibition stamp, the case surmounted by a figure of a reclining lady with basket of flowers on a naturalistic breakfront mound, the conforming fluted white marble base on toupie feet, 19" wide x 19.5" high, (48cm x 49.5cm), sold with an inlaid mahogany display case of arched form with boxwood-strung border framing arched glazing, the sides also glazed, on inlaid base and spreading feet, overall 24" x 10" x 26.5" high, (61cm x 25cm x 67cm), (2)

Condition Report
Dial - cracks in a 'V' from VI out to VIII and to III.
Movement - good.
Clock case - crack of join below VI. Slight cracking to right corner of top moulding to marble base. Minor dirt and discolouration but generally good.
Display case - some 'wrinkling' to veneer but overall good. Probably of later date than clock.
