Lot Description
An early 20th century French gilt metal portico clock. Having a 3.5" (9cm) cream Arabic dial. The two-train movement with Japy Freres exhibition stamp plus retailers stamp of GARDIEN & CHERON, PARIS, numbered 134 and outside countwheel striking on a bell, the cast case with arched surmount over cut glass square columns on a pierced spreading base with fruit basket pendulum. 16.25" (41cm) high

Condition Report
Dial - Faded inner band of decoration. Crack between 5 and 6.
Movement - with 1855 stamp, probably earlier than clock and so associated. Convex glazed bezel a different colour to case and also likely to be associated (dial and movement plus bezel = from an earlier clock).
Case - Rubbing to surmount. Flaking to base
