Lot Description

A mid 19th century mahogany travelling clock by G. Falconer & Co., Hong Kong. Having a 4.25" square silvered dial with Roman chapter ring and finely-engraved foliate spandrels, the chain-driven single-fusee movement with large balance wheel and curved platform to the ratchet-toothed escapement, the backplate engraved "G. Falconer & Co HONG KONG", in a five-glass case with canted front corners, 8.25", (21cm) high.

Dial - good condition but unsigned.

Movement - backplate is tarnished but unaltered. Has never had a pendulum movement. Balance wheel is ticking. Timepiece only (no bell/gong).

Case - of plain design, repolished years ago. Light scuffs and scratches. Later plywood floor.
