Lot Description

An imposing late Victorian or Edwardian carved oak-cased musical longcase clock retailed by Maple & Co Ltd. Having a 13.25" square dial, the silvered Arabic chapter ring framing subsidiary seconds over cartouche "MAPLE & CO LTD LONDON", all within foliate engraving, the high-quality movement chiming on a carillon of eight bells or four gongs, hour-striking on a fifth, the elaborate case with cherub cresting over caryatids, conforming breakfront trunk and base raised on scroll feet, 105.5", (268cm) high.

Movement - excellent.
Case - slight warping to base panel. Very dark with slight rubbing to highpoints, but no major damage.
