Lot Description
George III silver sugar basket of circular form, the sides ornately pierced with floral and foliate panels and with a small crested cartouche to one side, the whole with blue glass liner, single rope twist swing handle and standing on a spreading circular foot with pierced quatrefoil motifs. Hallmarked London 1770, maker probably Richard Morrison. Diameter of bowl measures 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm), weight 4.66 ozt (145 grams).

Condition Report
Basket displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Various minor nicks and dints in the metal in places but generally the overall condition appears to be okay. Swing handle in good working order. Hallmarks are clear and legible. Also scratched weight and date to the underside. Various surface marks and scratches to the blue glass liner.
