Lot Description

George III small silver salver of circular form, the centre decorated with scrolling foliate motifs surrounding two floral and two plain cartouche, all within a raised border with reeded rim, the whole standing on three bracket feet with scrolled terminals.  Hallmarked Robert Sharp, London, probably 1789. Diameter measures 7 7/8 inches (20 cm), weight 11.75 ozt (365.7 grams).

Total lot weight: No

The salver displays general wear and surface mark and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  Some of the scratches are deeper in places and there are various minor nicks visible in the metal.  However, overall the salver appears to be in fairly good condition.  Hallmarks are slightly rubbed and maker's mark slightly distorted but all still legible.
