Lot Description
A late Victorian gold locket, circa 1880. Of oval outline, the embossed curved panel to the concave recess within a rope-twist and cannetille surround with bead detail. Length 6.9cms. Weight 27gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in fair overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. There are small sections of cannetille missing. The central panel is affixed with a base metal screw and is slightly off-centre. The back shows scratches and panel repairs. The surmount is not original and is poorly applied with pitting and a small tear. There are small dents to the sides. The vacant glazed panel to the reverse appears to have an original base metal mount. The body of the piece touchstone tests as at least 9ct gold. Unhallmarked.
