Lot Description
A mid Victorian gold lapis lazuli brooch, circa 1870. Designed as two curved tubular bars, each with bead and rope twist detail, to the lapis lazuli bead terminations. Length 6cms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. There is a small, three bead section missing from the cannetille decoration. There is minor discolouration to the gold. The pin is a replacement and has a partial continental mark. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers at the front of our catalogue for coloured gemstones. The lapis lazuli beads are very slightly loose within their mounts. The lapis lazuli has minor glue residue and natural surface fissures. The blue colouration is slightly mottled. Untested for natural colour origin. The lapis lazuli are in good condition with minor abrasions. Diameter of lapis lazuli bead 12.26mms. Weight 11.3gms.
