A mid 20th century diamond and sapphire plaque brooch. Of openwork design, the old-cut diamond collet within an old-cut diamond geometric surround, to the calibre-cut sapphire detail. Estimated total diamond weight 4.85cts. Length 5.2cms.

Please see important notices for purchases at the front of our catalogue for coloured gemstones. Overall condition good. Surface scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. Principal diamond estimated weight 0.85ct, I-J colour, SI1-SI2 clarity. Smaller diamonds bright and lively with scattered light and dark inclusions, surface reaching fractures and surface abrasions. Some stones have significant chips. Individual size and setting of smaller diamonds prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Sapphires medium-dark blue with colour zoning. Some of the sapphires are unevenly set leaving noticeable gaps. Unhallmarked. Weight 12.1gms.
