A late 19th century cornelian fob seal. The rectangular-shape cornelian intaglio, carved to depict a sealed envelope to the scroll embossed pedestal. Length 2.1cms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. There are scratches to the fob in keeping with overall wear, the scroll embossed detail worn in places. The intaglio depicts a letter with the word 'truth'. There are light scratches to the intaglio. Unhallmarked. Weight 7.9gms. There is Birmingham assay mark and an indistinguishable letter to the jump ring which I believe to have been added.
