An early 20th century Russian demantoid garnet locket. The fancy-shape locket with vari-shape garnet flower. With Russian marks. Stamped 56. Length 4.5cms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. There are scratches to the locket in keeping with overall wear, there are areas of discolouration in places. The principal garnet is abraded to the facet edges, dimensions 3.9 by 3 by 2.05mm, estimated weight 0.18ct, there is also abrasion to the facet edges of the smaller garnets. The settings may need to be secured. There is a visible horsetail inclusion to the larger demantoid garnet, visible with magnification. The locket opens and closes securely. There are two 56 zolotnik stamps to the inside of the locket, that are clear. There are some indentations to the suspender. Unhallmarked. Weight 11.5gms.
