Lot Description
A George III silver key wind pair case pocket watch created for the Turkish market, signed George Prior, London, the white enamel dial with stylised Turkish hour markers surrounded by an outer minute track, the cases, the outer hallmarked London 1784 with the Ottoman coat of arms, the inner hallmarked London, both engraved with maker's mark IR, fitted with a signed gilt full plate fusee and chain movement, verge escapement and decorated, pierced balance cock. Outer case diameter 51mm.

A pocket watch, movement is not functioning, tiny marks on the dial, chips on the dial by two o'clock and at the edge by eleven o'clock, small cracks around the chip at two o'clock, wear to the stylised Turkish markers and minute track, hands are marked and discoloured, glass is scratched, some of the scratches may polish out, deeper marks may remain, a few small chips, case has medium scratches caused by general wear, areas of discolouration, dents on the edge of the case, a few tiny dints, tiny area of discolouration on the bow, crown beginning to show signs of wear and rubbing, the pocket watch case has medium scratches caused by general wear, some discolouration.
