Lot Description
An early 20th century 9ct gold amethyst and split pearl star brooch. The circular-shape amethyst within a split pearl and circular-shape amethyst radial surround. Stamped 9ct. Diameter 3cms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. There are scratches to the brooch in keeping with the age of the piece. The amethysts are fairly well matched, there is an easily visible internal fracture to the central amethyst stemming across the stone visible with the unaided eye. The outer amethysts have greater depth of colour. The split pearls are similar in shade however most are heavily blemished and blistered. Some settings may need to be secured. The suspender to the brooch is not original and appears modern. The back pin has been replaced. Weight 3.5gms.
