A late Victorian gold split pearl and enamel brooch, circa 1880. The split pearl, within an oval-shape blue enamel panel, to the split pearl surround. Length 3cms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. Minor surface wear in keeping with general age. The split cultured pearls are well matched. They have a cream body colour. Minor blisters and blemishes can be seen. A large chip can be seen to the edge of the enamel. Minor nicks can also be seen.
Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.
