A 19th century French bronze seal. Cast as a group of conjoined classical-style masks, alternately bearded, the seal face with intaglio design of a crowned eagle encircled by inscription "P. J. MONVOISIN NO'RE A VICHY TR. DE PAIX DE CUSSET (ALLIER)", 1.3" diameter x 2.3" high, (3.4cm x 6cm). Cusset is a commune in the Allier department (Vichy arrondissement) of Central France. See: http://eluscussetavenir.wordpress.com/ where, in the history of Cusset for 1865, it is stated "Le président est alors Maître Monvoisin, notaire de 1861 à 1889".
