A 20th century Indian carved ivory night-light of cylindrical form surmounted by an elephant over pierced arcades, the lower frieze carved in relief with fighting animals, on a turned hardwood base, 8.5", (21.5cm) high overall.

Brown bakelite cover to underside suggests a 1920s/30s date. Ivory is very milky white. Small hole to hardwood base and cuts in footrim (not visible from above), otherwise sound.
