Adrien-Etienne Gaudez, (1845-1902). 'Etoile du Matin', a late 19th century cast bronze figure of a maiden, modelled with right arm aloft, flowing hair and robes, standing on her left leg on an orb decorated with signs of the zodiac, the shield-shaped plaque to the front engraved "ETOILE DU MATIN PAR A. GAUDEZ HORS CONCOURS", further signature "A. GAUDEZ H. C." to left side of orb, the whole with olive green patination, raised on an alabaster or white onyx plinth, 23.25", (59cm) high.
